Get the help you need to quit this Stoptober

Thursday 11 September 2014

Smokers across Hounslow are being urged to quit smoking as part of Stoptober – the 28 day stop smoking challenge which begins in October.

Last year, over 1,000 Hounslow residents signed up to take part in the Stoptober challenge. This year, the local NHS stop smoking service wants to help even more local people to go smoke-free.

Sign-up online for additional support now!

To ensure local people stand the very best chance of succeeding, Hounslow Stop Smoking Service will be offering additional support to Hounslow residents during the difficult first few weeks of Stoptober and beyond.

The team has setup a handy online form for Hounslow residents to take the first steps in going smoke-free by entering their contact details to receive free support from the team.

Local people can simply enter their contact details at: www.hrch.nhs.uk/stop-smoking and an expert NHS stop smoking advisor will call you back to offer free advice and support and discuss the help that’s available from the Hounslow team.

Promotional events coming soon to Hounslow

During the countdown to Stoptober – and throughout the month of October - the team of NHS stop smoking advisors will be out and about across Hounslow with the Stoptober big red wheel, running a series of promotional events to help smokers get ready to quit.  Watch out for further information about the team’s outreach events on the trust’s website at: www.hrch.nhs.uk

There's no better time to stop than Stoptober

Stoptober is based on research that smokers are five times more likely to stay smoke-free if they can successfully stop smoking for four weeks. The Stoptober campaign offers a wide range of support for smokers through a dedicated app, email, texts and social media.
