About Hounslow’s wheelchair services
The Hounslow Wheelchair and Posture Management Service provide a comprehensive service for people with long term mobility and associated postural needs. Once equipment provision is established, the wheelchair service continues to evaluate the service user's needs, and ensures maintenance of equipment on issue to clients through a contracted wheelchair repair service.
The service has held Wheelchair Skills training days for the past two years - to encourage independence and maximise the children’s abilities - with fantastic feedback being received from attendees and service users.
Hounslow Wheelchair and Posture Management Service provides equipment to meet a wide range of needs to service users of any age, including power chairs, buggies and high spec active user lightweight chairs. The service works closely with local suppliers, including ex-professional basketball players, to provide a high level of expertise.
Earlier this year, Hounslow Wheelchair service had been awarded funding to provide sleep systems for postural management, pressure management, and end of life care.
