Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust hosted a Christmas party on Friday 12 December to thank the 85 volunteers from the Richmond area who provide vital support to our local NHS Services.

Within our 85 volunteers, we have one of the most thriving volunteer programmes in the NHS.  Our volunteers support a wide range of patients - from reassuring patients as 'meeters and greeters', reception roles and fundraising for the local NHS services. They have also recently been involved with carrying out patient surveys to measure patient opinion of Richmond services which is crucial to improvement and learning.

Stephen Swords, chairman of HRCH who opened the event shared his gratitude, “The way you go about your roles is vital to how patient’s feel about our services. Frequently the public using our facilities are anxious and concerned. Your interaction with them, a smile or comment, solving a problem or query play a large part in a patient’s experience of our services.”
