Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare (HRCH) employees donated 103kg of toiletries for people in need this week.

Our infection prevention and control team collected the gifts for The Hygiene Bank #ITSINTHEBAG appeal. The charity collects personal care essentials for people who can’t always afford them.

HRCH employees filled almost 100 hygiene bags and included something special such as lipstick or aftershave, plus a Christmas message.

Fiona Joyce, infection prevention and control community staff nurse, said: “We didn’t have long to do it, but everyone collected gifts and left them with our fantastic reception staff in various health centres for us to pick up.

“We collected 103kg of toiletries and The Hygiene Bank Hampton delivered the bags to an amazing charity, Richmond Christmas Day Dinner – https://christmasdayrichmond.com/.”

The charity hosts a lunch every year for about 70 young people who have left care and don’t have a family to spend Christmas Day with.

Fiona added: “We are delighted our collection is going to such a worthy cause. Thank you all!”
