It is with great sadness that we can confirm the tragic passing of a much loved HRCH colleague, Afua Fofie, who died last month after testing positive for Covid-19.

We were unable to share more at the time as her family was not ready for this.

Afua was a healthcare assistant on the Pamela Bryant Ward at Teddington Memorial Hospital who was known for her infectious laugh and willingness to go the extra mile for patients and her colleagues. She always put her patients first and her loss will be keenly felt by those who knew her and worked alongside her.

Our deepest sympathies are with Afua’s family as well as her friends and colleagues as they try to come to terms with her passing.

We have put extra support in place for our staff and ask that the family’s privacy is respected at this extremely difficult time.
