The Freedom of Information Act allows members of the public to access information held by public authorities, subject to certain exemptions.
It does this in two ways:
Recorded information includes printed documents, computer files, letters, emails, photographs, and sound or video recordings.
The Freedom of Information Act does not change the rights of patients to protect their confidentiality. If you want to see information that a public authority holds about you, you can make a subject access request to see your records.
Under the Freedom of Information Act we have a legal obligation to produce a publication scheme - through which we pro-actively publish information and documents required by the Information Commissioner’s Office.
How to make a Freedom of Information (FoI) request:
All requests must be made in writing, either by email or letter. It would help us if you could include the following information when making a request:
- The email address or correspondence address that the information should be sent to
- A full and concise description of the information required

We will respond to your request within 20 working days. Where it is likely that we will not meet this deadline, we will tell you as soon as possible.
Please note, some information held by us will remain protected and an exemption will be applied to the request. Where an exemption applies, we will tell you why.
