The Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare Trust’s (HRCH) children audiology services has been awarded the Improving Quality in Physiological Services (IQIPS) accreditation, the only nationally recognised quality assurance scheme available for audiology services in the UK.
The Royal College of Physicians and the Department of Health’s IQIPS programme develops services for patients undergoing physiological tests and recognises high quality services across nine physiological disciplines. A badge of quality was awarded to the HRCH team after they successfully completed a two day assessment of their procedures, clinical practice and patient journeys.
Stephen Swords, chairman for HRCH, said: “I am thrilled that our audiology services have won this prestigious award. It shows their commitment to continuously improve the services we are giving patients.”
He added, “I visited the team to congratulate them on their achievement and they have created a professional model for audiology services that, with the support of the IQIPS programme, can continue to improve.”
The UKAS assessors said: “the patient experience provided by the audiology service at Hounslow and Richmond Community Healthcare NHS Trust was seen to be of an excellent standard.”
